What are strapping bands?

One of the must-have products for sportsmen and women is a flexible elastic bandage, which sticks to the skin around the joints after trauma. They are slightly stretchable to adapt perfectly to your body, and to the area you wish to treat: knee, ankle, elbow, wrist.

The aim of pharmacy strapping is to limit movement, to avoid pulling on an already sensitive area. So you can work out and be free to move, but still have a certain amount of restraint on the chosen joint (to avoid false movements or movements that are too wide and could pull and hurt you) without realizing it, thanks to itselasticityandlightness.

What are strap bands used for?

You have several choices:

  • A strapping band can be used to return to sporting activity with peace of mind. It's very useful, and recommended after rehabilitation with a physiotherapist, to continue applying compression to the muscles that are hurting.
  • The strap bandage helps heal the injured joint and limit pain. They restrict your movements slightly, so as not to irritate your already sore muscles.
  • If you're looking for stiffer protection, we have a range of straps ideal for rest periods at home.

Why use strapping?

The advantage of wearing a strapping band is that you can get back into sport without straining your muscles, as well as relieving any aches and pains you may still be experiencing. As straps compress, they should not be used on wounds, or placed over plasters, bandages or bandages, as they may be too tight and have a detrimental effect.

A little advice from Netsportique:

A kinesiology bandage is no substitute for a good stretch! Make sure you mobilize your joints, by doing proprioception and stabilization exercises. Your body will be properly warmed up, and you'll avoid complications.
